Concepts for the Sacred River area in Sword of the Sea. Initially I was imagining the level to be a sequence in pitch black, where as your character moved, you would light up the water below you, creating an ocean of stars and glowing trails. I was heavily inspired by the bioluminescent plankton that visits the California coast from time to time. With the game having so many ties to the ocean, it felt like a natural fit for a more somber contemplative level.
